Drama with Diouana

From Black Girl a 1960s Senegalese drama that deals with issues of race by writer-director Ousmane Sembene. It is considered one of the seminal works of African cinema. I enjoyed it and you may too.Watch is instantly, with Netflix, if you have not seen it.

Framed

During my holiday vacation I watched Delicatessen while enjoying a scrumptious vegetarian meal. The film, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro, is a surrealist French comedy about the landlord of an apartment building who creates cannibalistic meals for his kooky tenants.

Almost immediately I was struck by the exquisite art direction, each frame was sublime. As a person who likes glasses, I could not help but notice the “frames” worn by a few of the cast members. Check them out:

Just Jean

Over the weekend I watched Breathless a 1960s French new wave film directed by Jean-Luc Godard (thank you Netflix). I discovered more about the style that is synonymous with that decade. The chic daring look of Jean Seberg activated my inner 60s child and made me think two words the whole film—stunning haircut.
